Bright ideas for bright children
Bright ideas for bright children
Bright Speech Pathology offers mobile Speech Pathology services within the environment in which the child needs support. This includes home, school, childcares and out in the community. Intervention will target support the child and the family’s goals regarding speech sounds, expressive and receptive language, communication, literacy, social skills and to some degree behaviour management and emotional regulation. We believe that intervention needs to be evidence-based, creative, fun and practical; incorporating bright ideas for bright children.
Literacy can involve letter-sound correspondences, early literacy skills, spelling, reading and writing.
It is important for children to be supported to appropriately express their emotions, respond to them and regulate them. For many parents, simply receiving strategies and support can make a big difference.
Play skills, turn-taking, sharing, conversation skills, appropriate social behaviours and developing friendships are important for a child to navigate interactions with people around them.
Children with limited verbal communication can greatly benefit from additional methods of communication such as Key Word Sign, pictures and specialised communication devices.
Speech sound disorders involve difficulties clearly producing speech sounds. This can impact a child's ability to clearly talk and effectively express themselves with others.
Receptive and expressive language involves producing and understanding the meaning of words, concepts, sentences and grammar; in spoken and written form.

We provide professional assessment and intervention of a wide range of communication difficulties. We are committed to achieving the best outcomes to address your child or teenager's specific needs by working with your family and your child's community and environment.
We provide parents and educators with helpful personalised strategies
to implement during the rest of the week. Supporting the child's goals outside therapy sessions is best practice. We also happily collaborate with other allied health professionals.
strategies
Therapy and support is delivered in the environment that your child most needs it. Sessions can be conducted at your child's home, school or childcare. These may involve play-based approaches, structured activities and/or supporting your child during their normal routine.
sessions
It is important we understand your child well to help in the best way possible! This will involve collecting information on your child's past and current development and skills including discussing background history and/or conducting an assessment.
CONSULTATION
We want you to feel heard and supported in our sessions with quality services and evidence-based clinical practice. Your goals and needs are important to us so we ensure that the assessment and intervention process is collaborative and informative.
Alyssa is a warm and passionate speech therapist who provides therapy that brings about meaningful change to the child by collaborating with the child and their family as well as others surrounding the child. Helpful personalised strategies targeting the child’s difficulties and the family’s concerns are developed. Alyssa then works with families and educators to implement support in everyday life so that it can continue past the intervention sessions.
